Man military uniform Afghanistan Kills U.S. Soldiers Return

Afghan military said a man using an Afghan army uniform opened fire on a group of Americans at a military base in the south of the country, killing one U.S. soldier and wounding another.

Afghan military spokesman General Mohammad Zahir Azimi said the gunman was also killed in a shootout on Sunday (8 / 1). He said the investigation is being conducted to determine whether the gunman was a member of the Afghan military.

A NATO statement Sunday night saying only that members of the coalition have been killed in the incident, apparently by an Afghan soldier, but gave no further details about the victim's nationality.


Azimi said the shooting occurred inside one Afghanistyan national military base in Zabul province, about 250 miles (400 kilometers) south of Kabul. (FQ / ap)
