JAKARTA - State electricity company PT (Persero) estimates growth in national electricity consumption increased by about 8.46% per year during 2011-2020.
PLN estimates that an additional supply of 51,482 MWh of electricity needed. "Details, 29,243 MWh will be attempted alone and 22,239 MWh electricity will be offered to private entrepreneurs. With this assumption, then each year there should be additional MWh of electricity supply reaches 5510, "said Director of Planning and Technology PLN Nasri Sebayang in Jakarta yesterday.
Nasri say that the company will work on gas power plants and steam (PLTGU) capacity of 4500 MW. The project, he explained, will be divided in three locations in which each generating capacity of 1500 MW.
It is estimated, the investment for a generation at around $ 2, 3 billion (around Rp19, 5 billion). PLN plans to work on own project. PLN will start building this PLTGU in 2014 and is expected to start operation in 2018. (Nanang Wijayanto)
